The website Tales from the field is the result of an initial collaboration between sociolinguists from Fribourg and Lyon.
It emerged from meetings aimed at creating a space for discussing the challenges of conducting critical ethnographic sociolinguistic research, and questioning the role of the researcher in fieldwork.
These meetings led to reflections on the role of politics in the production of knowledge in sociolinguistics and ultimately resulted in the creation of this website, which represents the culmination of the work carried out during our meetings and enables ongoing reflection through the regular publication of new tales.
